Hyundai has introduced a new special edition of its Elantra N, called the Monochrome. According to Car and Driver, the Monochrome edition tones down some of the model's bold styling details.
The Monochrome edition comes in two trims, called the Base Trim and the Upper Trim. It is offered in two colors, Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue.
Both trims include new black forged wheels and Alcantara, a soft fabric-like material, on parts of the interior. The steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara and has black buttons. The interior also has bright blue stitching and a shift-knob accent stripe.
The Upper Trim adds more to the Base Trim's package. It includes carbon-fiber mirror caps and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, which is a part on the back of the car that helps guide air over it. Carbon fiber is a light, strong material.
The Monochrome edition launches in Korea this month. At first, it will only be sold in Korea, Canada, and Australia. Hyundai is not selling the Monochrome edition in the United States.
Hyundai plans to expand the Monochrome edition into other global markets in the future. Earlier this year, the Elantra N TCR Edition started as a limited release before it reached the United States.
