A Long Weekend of Food and Drink in Edinburgh
One writer spent a weekend eating and drinking through Edinburgh, from Cullen skink to a Michelin-starred final dinner.

A writer recently spent a long weekend eating and drinking through Edinburgh, in Scotland, according to Delish. The trip began after an overnight flight to the city.
During the weekend, the writer tried some classic Scottish dishes. These included Cullen skink, haggis, and fish and chips. Cullen skink is a soup, and the one at The Doric is made with smoked haddock, potatoes, and cream. The Doric is located at 15-16 Market Street.
At Arcade Haggis & Whisky House, haggis was served as fried bon bons (small, round, bite-sized balls) with whisky marmalade and crispy kale. Arcade is located at 48 Cockburn Street. Herbie More's, at 19 North Bridge, served panko-crusted haddock (fish coated in crumbs) with tartare sauce, fries, and mushy peas.
The writer also visited other places to eat and drink. They ate at Dishoom, at 3a St Andrew Square, and at BABA, at 130 George Street. At Kick Ass Bar, at 37-39 Cowgate, the writer ordered a Cold Town lager. Kuna Cafe & Bakery, at 1 Elm Row, and Cobbled Roastery, at 48 Thistle Street, were also on the list of places visited.
The writer joined Eating Europe's Old Town Food & Drinks Tour. This tour helped them explore the food of the city's Old Town.
The weekend ended with dinner at Heron, located at 87-91A Henderson Street in Leith. Heron has a Michelin star. The meal lasted roughly three hours. The writer found it to be one of the best meals they had ever eaten.
