Celtic have moved four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership after beating Hearts 7-1, according to BBC Sport. Their goal difference is now 12 better than Rangers.

Hearts had finished last season as runners-up and were third in the division before the match. Celtic, however, had lost four significant matches in their past six games before this win.

Callum Osmand and Benjamin Nygren each scored a double in the match. Camilo Duran scored a goal and provided two assists.

Martin O'Neill, who returned as Celtic manager last year, said four points at this stage is absolutely nothing. He also said he was not sure the win was a statement victory.

Kris Boyd said it was the closest he had seen to Ange Postecoglou's Celtic. Ryan McGowan said Hearts ran into Celtic at the wrong time. Pat Bonner said Osmand and Colby Donovan set the tone, and Scott Brown said Duran is exciting him.

Celtic next play Celta Vigo in the Europa League on Thursday. Both clubs have two defeats and no points in the league phase. O'Neill said Celtic have a busy fixture schedule of Sunday and Thursday matches.

Chris Sutton said Celtic have been flying domestically but not in Europe.
