Netflix celebrated 10 years in Korea with a fan festival in Seoul, according to Variety. The two-day event ran from Oct. 24 to 25 at Sangam Oil Tank Culture Park, and thousands of fans attended.
On Oct. 24, stars of the shows Squid Game and KPop Demon Hunters took the stage. Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun and Park Hae-soo represented Squid Game, while Ahn Hyo-seop appeared for KPop Demon Hunters.
Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos also previewed upcoming titles at the event. Among them is Possible Love, directed by Lee Chang-dong, which won at Venice. Possible Love is set to premiere on Nov. 6.
Another upcoming show is Tantara, which stars Song Hye-kyo, Gong Yoo and Kim Seol-hyun. Tantara is set to premiere on Dec. 11.
Several other titles were mentioned but do not have release dates yet. These are Grand Galaxy Hotel, She, Wolf, All of Us Are Dead Season 2 and Solo Leveling.
Netflix launched in Korea on Jan. 6, 2016. Since then, Squid Game Season 1 held the longest Global Top 10 run, staying on the list for 32 straight weeks. Netflix has also counted more than 200 Korean titles on its Global Top 10 since June 2021.
Netflix says more than four in five of its subscribers worldwide have sampled at least one Korean title. Between 2024 and 2026, first-time directors or writers made more than a third of its Korean titles.
From 2016 to 2025, Netflix partnered with more than 80 Korean production companies. Its Korean productions employed over 20,000 actors and crew members. The show When Life Gives You Tangerines added more than KRW90 billion ($60.4 million) to the Korean economy.
Netflix relies on 122 localization partners around the world. Physical: 100 became the first unscripted non-English show to lead the Global Top 10.
Jeju drew about 2.24 million overseas visitors in 2025. In September 2025, applications for TOPIK, a test of Korean language skills, passed 550,000.
