Brabus, a company that works on Mercedes-AMG vehicles, sells a pickup truck version of the Mercedes-AMG G63. The truck is called the P900 Rocket Edition.
The truck's V-8 engine has been enlarged from 4.0 liters to 4.5 liters (a liter is a unit used to measure engine size). Total power rises from 577 horsepower to 900 hp. The engine makes a peak torque of 922 pound-feet, which is a measure of twisting force.
The engine's peak torque is electronically limited to 774 pound-feet. Brabus says this limit exists to protect the drivetrain components, which are the parts that carry power from the engine to the wheels.
Brabus claims the P900 Rocket Edition can go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds. According to the manufacturer's claim, the standard G63 is slower to reach 62 mph.
The truck also has a claimed top speed of 149 mph. The G63 with an optional performance package is limited to the same 149 mph top speed.
The pickup bed gives the truck a shape that is easy to recognize. According to Car and Driver, the P900 Rocket Edition is considered second only to the Bodo coupe in visual impact.
The details above come from Car and Driver's report on the truck.
